  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch + ¼ cup cold water (for thickening)
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp each: salt, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1½ tsp Worcestershire sauce (halal)
  • ¼ tsp each: dried thyme, rosemary
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Season the cubed sirloin tips with salt, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, and black pepper. Coat evenly with flour.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the seasoned beef in batches until seared on all sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté diced onion and minced garlic until soft.
  4. Pour in beef broth and add the bouillon cube along with Worcestershire sauce. Stir in dried thyme and rosemary; let simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Return the browned sirloin tips to the skillet and simmer together for 20–25 minutes until tender.
  6. Mix cornstarch with cold water to create a slurry; gradually stir into the gravy until thickened to your liking.
  7. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
