  • 3 pounds sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup unsalted beef broth
  • 1 ounce au jus gravy mix
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Season the sirloin pieces with kosher salt and black pepper in a large bowl.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear half of the seasoned steak until browned on all sides, then repeat with remaining steak.
  3. Transfer seared steak to a crockpot and top with sliced onions and garlic.
  4. Pour the unsalted beef broth over the mixture and sprinkle with au jus gravy mix.
  5. Add slices of butter on top of the ingredients in the crockpot.
  6. Cover and cook on HIGH for 3–4 hours or LOW for 6–8 hours until tender.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
