Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin or flank steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 8 oz pasta shells
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 5 tbsp unsalted butter (divided)
  • Olive oil
  • Fresh thyme (or dried thyme)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil salted water and cook pasta shells until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season steak with salt and pepper. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sear steak cubes until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter, add minced garlic and thyme; sauté briefly. Return steak to coat in sauce.
  4. Wipe the skillet, melt more butter, sauté garlic, then add chicken broth and heavy cream. Simmer for several minutes.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted; add drained pasta shells and toss to coat along with steak bites.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan if desired.
