Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 4 chai tea bags
- 1 cup cane sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup almond milk
- 4–6 squares dark chocolate, chopped
- 1–2 tbsp chai syrup
- 1 tbsp cacao powder
- ¼–½ tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- Small pinch sea salt
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil and steep chai tea bags for about 5 minutes.
- Remove tea bags and stir in cane sugar until dissolved. Add almond milk, chopped dark chocolate, cacao powder, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and sea salt.
- Return saucepan to medium heat and whisk until smooth and heated through (about 2 minutes).
- Pour into heat-resistant mugs and top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of chai spice if desired.
